FireCan Deluxe Fire Pit

I had been hauling around a large circular propane fire pits with a regular size propane tank, and while I enjoyed that one it took up way too much bed space in my Tacoma. That combined with a small Weber BBQ (not a shot at Weber, I enjoy that grill as well) took up half the space of my short bed. Friend of mine got the Original Fire Can last summer and really enjoyed it. So I had been looking on the secondary market for awhile but one never popped up. When the DELUXE came out a few months ago I knew I was going to get it. I was extremally surprised on how well built it was. Its heavy, but in a good way. I was worried the metal would be thinner and its not. Cooked up a few steaks for dinner one night and swapped the hose around to eat them by the fire. Being able to keep with the lid on for the grill mode keeps that heat in and helps fully cook the food. Its just big enough to cook for my wife and I. Everything cleaned up really easy with some warm soapy water. Time will tell but I am confident in the durability of the unit. Extremely excited to use it for the rest of the summer.

The only Con is that because it is dual purpose you cant put in lava rocks or other material that would disperse the flame in a natural way, but ill pass on that for the functionality.

Also really appreciated that they are a local (Washington State) to me. Ordered Tuesday night, delivered Thursday. Would recommend to any car camper!

I have been dragging around a traditional round propane fire pit and although it's nice to have this Ignik deluxe firecan is perfect! Massive amounts of heat from this little package. I love how it packs up for travel. I do recommend getting some kind of lava rock to improve it's heating efficiency.

We liked our original Firecan, we Love our new Deluxe Model! Being able to cook outside our Van with the added grill insert is super. We also enjoy the bright glow from the Deluxe stainless build in firepit mode. Ignik seems to have the bases covered! Heat output in cooking mode is so adjustable and there is plenty of it. We are using 4x6x2 inch tinfoil pans to cook non-grillable foods like a scrambled egg stir. Keeping moisture and smells out of RV is perfect.

This is a total game changer and the quality is unparalleled. As a full time “overlander” it’s pretty inconvenient to have to build a campfire for either warmth or to quickly grill something up especially on a consistent basis, add fire bans to that and you end up having to get crafty with different solutions. My previous setup consisted of a portable propane fire pit and a portable grill, which took up valuable space and weight in my vehicle. Not only does this unit pull double duty with a much smaller footprint, but the ease of use and efficiency is freakin amazing. Living on the road full time, efficiency is your most valuable asset. The only limitations I see for the Firecan Deluxe is it’s probably good for about four people max, but for my setup this unit checks all of the boxes.

If you love the original FIRECAN like I do, you will think the FIRECAN DELUXE is AMAZING! I was excited to try cooking with the grill insert so for our first cook we grilled up some veggies and Italian sausages for the perfect camp dinner. Whats great about the DELUXE is the cooking insert along with the additional of a second gas input. With 2 gas inputs and 2 separate burners, one for cooking and one for campfire mode you can choose between flipping burgers or enjoying an evening burn. When using cooking mode, you get a crisp blue flame for clean, even cooking. Plus the cooking insert and grill grate are simple to use and easy to clean up afterward. Also IGNIK thought of everything by adding a drip pan attached underneath the FIRECAN to catch any excess grease so no mess at all during the cooking process. Once cooking was done, we removed the grill insert so it could cool down, then swapped over to the campfire mode. I was excited to see a higher flame coming from the FIRECAN DELUXE compared to what we are used to with the original FIRECAN. This higher flame is because of the upgraded 1.2mm size gas jet in the DELUXE that gives you the glow of a warm orange and yellow flame that seems to shout "come chill and roast some marshmallows!" Plus with the stronger flame you get additional warmth too! No matter if you are using the FIRECAN DELUXE in the backcountry, on the back roads or on the back porch you are going to LOVE IT! I pair mine with the IGNIK 5lb Gas Growler!
