PREVENTING WILDFIRES

Wildfires destroy an average of 6-million acres of land in the US each year, cause billions of dollars’ worth of destruction and account for about 20% of the global carbon emissions. With the increased presence of wildfires, burn bans have become commonplace, limiting where and when we can enjoy a campfire. We make it simple to enjoy a fire while following burn-ban restrictions with an easy to pack, easy to use firepit.

QUICK FAQS

The FireCan has a heat output of about 38,000 BTU/hr. on its high setting. In general, 1 gallon of propane can output about 91,500 BTU. Our 5 lb. Gas Growlers hold roughly 1.2 gallons of propane, so a full Gas Growler will run the FireCan on max setting for approximately 2.5 - 3 hours. High altitude and low temperatures can affect propane burn efficiency, so these numbers may vary depending on conditions.

Unfortunately, we do not sell the grill inserts separately, and have found that it would likely not work well in our standard FireCan. The original FireCan's flame is not exactly suitable for cooking, and is calibrated for heat, while the FireCan Deluxe has two separate burners, one for heat and one for cooking.

Yes! However, please make sure you only use lava rocks or glass that are specifically intended for fire pits and high heat applications. You can find these in most hardware stores in the patio/garden section. River rocks, stones, and lava rocks used for landscaping are not designed for high heat and can crack or explode if heated in a fire.

Do not put any solid fuels such as wood into the FireCan. It is designed to safely combust propane only.

Everything is well built, top notch!

My son uses his on rafting trips and recommended it to me. Equipment arrived on time and intact. Every item looks professionally built and well thought out. Tried it out at home and worked perfectly! Cannot say to much how good it looks and well built! Wish we had it last summer with so many “no fire” restrictions. It’s even better that it is made by a local company (Pacific Northwest).

Worked great for one night…

Bought this late last summer and worked fine me for one days on our first camping trip. Just got into day three of a three week trip and it doesn’t work. The unit not stays on without the control valve pushed in, which means a sore thump and the choice of either a small flame or no hair left. Looks like the fancy Canadian version’s thermocoupler is a problem. So much for bringing a fire pit during a April trip in northern Canada.
