IGNIK + NATIONAL FOREST FOUNDATION

Ignik Partners with National Forest Foundation

FireCan sales to support Foundation’s reforestation efforts

Bainbridge Island, WA – July 10, 2023 – Ignik, a Seattle-based brand that produces high-quality, environmentally thoughtful heating products, is proud to announce its partnership with the National Forest Foundation (NFF), a congressionally chartered non-profit with the mission of bringing people together to restore and enhance National Forests. Ignik will donate a portion of its FireCan line profits to support the NFF's conservation and restoration efforts, as Ignik is dedicated to raising awareness around responsible campfires, especially as wildfires continue ravaging our National Forests.

A dramatic increase in wildfires and burn bans inspired Ignik to create the FireCan, a safe, easy, and packable propane-fueled campfire that allows users to safely enjoy a fire while following burn ban restrictions. In an effort to further protect our forests, Ignik is teaming up with the NFF, donating $10,000 from its FireCan line sales to the NFF’s Reforestation Program. The Reforestation Program addresses the immense reforestation need facing our forests, with every $1 donated by a tree planting partner funding at least one tree planted in a National Forest. Sales from Ignik’s FireCan, FireCan Deluxe, and its newly released FireCan Elite will support planting 10,000 new trees, some of which will replace trees destroyed by wildfires.

In addition to financial support, Ignik has committed to help spread the word to its audience about the NFF’s mission while promoting responsible recreation and encouraging the public to be fire-smart and check with local burn bans when enjoying campfires in the forest.

“Since launching the FireCan, we have been in search of a partner that aligns with our mission of educating people about camping smarter, forest management, and wildfire reduction,” says Brandon Ramirez, Ignik’s Marketing and Creative Director.  “The National Forest Foundation is on the front lines when it comes to forest restoration and forest education. Their countless regional programs and ongoing efforts are a true inspiration to us. As we head into National Forest Week, Ignik is proud to add the NFF as one of its top 1% For The Planet partners, and we look forward to supporting them in any way we can.”

“The National Forest Foundation is honored to have Ignik's commitment to help protect our invaluable public lands," noted NFF's Conservation Partnerships Director, Sarah Collins. “It's fantastic to see an innovative product like the FireCan line not only providing a safer way to enjoy campfires but also contributing to the planting of 10,000 trees across National Forests in need. We're thankful for Ignik's contribution to the health of the forest system millions of outdoor enthusiasts enjoy every year."

About the National Forest Foundation

The National Forest Foundation, chartered by Congress, engages Americans in community-based and national programs that promote the health and public enjoyment of the 193-million-acre National Forest System, and administers private gifts of funds and land for the benefit of the National Forests. We work on behalf of the American public to inspire personal and meaningful connections to our National Forests. By directly engaging communities and leveraging private and public funding, the NFF leads forest conservation efforts and promotes responsible recreation. Each year the NFF restores fish and wildlife habitat; facilitates common ground; plants trees in areas affected by fire, insects, and disease; protects vital watersheds that provide a third of all Americans with drinking water; and improves recreational opportunities. The NFF believes our National Forests and all they offer are a treasure and vital to the health of our communities.
