HEATING WITH A PORTABLE POWER SYSTEM
Using a 12V power supply, our Heated Sleep System products will operate in 'Max Heat Mode,' and can reach a maximum temperature of 140 degrees F. Using a 5V USB-A power supply, all compatible products operate in 'Comfort Mode', reaching about 85 degrees F. Products operating in Comfort Mode provide an extra layer of warmth, but won't be hot to the touch.
Yes. Each device in our Heated Sleep System line is powered by 12V rechargeable power supplies, and they do not come with a power supply included. All products connect directly to a standard 5.5 x 2.1mm barrel plug. Check the details for each product to see what adapters are included or available.
Maybe! Our original Heated Sleep Systems line (Heated Sleeping Bag Liner, Heated Pad Cover, Heated Seat Pad) operate with a 5v or 12v power source.
Our newer generation of seat pads, the Backside and Backside XL, have slightly different power requirements. These products require 24 watts of power; in other words, a 12v power source that supplies at least 2.0 amps. They come with a USB-C adapter as well as a 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel connector, and can also be used with our 12v vehicle aux adapter (sold separately).
Bought this as I committed to car camping during the winter season, Currently living in Colorado its been getting down into the teens. First night using it was amazing plug it in the Yet 500x turn it up to 100 and could just feel the sleeping bag get warmer and warmer. feel asleep fairly quickly. Was impressed by the material used for this as it also brings comfort just by the feel. Actually woke up to it being too hot. Using a 15 degree bag was able to sleep in it as if it was summer, changed the power to 70 and that carried me through the night no problem, just make sure the time duration is set to hrs sleeping. Honestly almost slept in for work, waking up cozy and warm. The battery use drop to about 40% as well which isn't bad considering I just charge it at work during the day. Just hoping that the longevity of this product will last a few years, but at the same time wayyy cheaper then rent and would probably just buy another if needed. Over all pleased and looking forward to the nights ahead.
But I’ll be warm and delightful , let it snow let it snow let it snow.
I love this heating pad!
I purchased the heating pad for tent camping in cool desert nights. When I used the heating pad along with the heated blanket for two nights in very windy conditions and near 40 degree temps, I was very warm with settings of 50 on each, which barely used 40% of the power of my small battery generator for 8 hrs of use. I was super pleased with how well both worked, and how little power they used. I'm a very happy, warm camper! I would purchase these again, and would recommend them to anyone in need of camping warmth!
I bought 2 of the Flipsides for a hunting trip this past weekend. We camped 2 nights with 40 degree nights. These were perfect! According to my teenage son, it was his best night of sleep ever. I had mine connected to a 1000 W Goal Zero. My first night I used 9% of my battery, with the Flipside set to 60 (out of 100) and 7 hours use. The second night I used 14% more of the battery, also set to 60 and with 8.5 hours use. I was surprised how warm it was with so little power use. I've never camped with warmth below me like this, and it was a game changer. I'm excited to try it in colder weather camping in another month!
When I purchased this heated pad there were no reviews. I went out on a limb and got it anyway, since I've been looking for a product like this for a few years. I wanted something I can plug in that would stay hot all night. Something with a 12 volt car adapter that I could use on my Jackery batteries. And I wanted something that wouldn't use too much power. The flipside heated bed cover is exactly what I was looking for. I noticed if you have it 60% or above it draws 45 watts. If you keep it at 50% or below it draws 30 watts. I started at 50% and that was very warm. I slept at 30%-40%. I was staying in 40° weather. I really recommend this product if you're sleeping in the back of your truck or in a pop-up tent or anywhere that's just cold. Getting into a warm bed and staying warm all night made my trip just right.
