Worth the extra money. Perfect size.

We added 2 bags of the ceramic moon rocks to our fire can. We notice much more heat radiating from the fire can with the rocks than we did with it empty. At first we added 1 bag & that helped quite a bit and there was still enough space to store the hose in the can when not in use. After using the can while camping in the mid 20’s F we decided to add a second bag of rocks to see if we’d feel more heat. Yes! The second bag really increased the felt heat. It takes a few minutes for all the rocks and can to heat up but once they do there is a good amount of heat for 2 people. The hose does not store inside with 2 bags of rocks though. It takes about 15mins tea for the fire can to cook down enough to pack up. We are very happy with our fire can & highly recommend adding the rocks. The only downside is the shipping cost for the rocks seems extremely high. $17 if I recall correctly.

I bought the Fire can @ Rei, Use a few times works well. Bought the Moon rock’s, What a difference heat doesn’t go straight up anymore!
