We comply with the California Safer Food Packaging and Cookware Act of 2021 (AB 1200). This law requires manufacturers to disclose any intentionally added chemicals that appear on the California DTSC Candidate Chemicals List and are present in cookware, food-contact surfaces, or handles. It’s a “right-to-know” law: disclosure does not mean a product is unsafe—it ensures you know which materials are used.
Transparency at Every Step
- We carefully select materials to protect you, our employees, and the environment.
- All applicable Ignik cookware products meet or exceed relevant FDA and international standards for food-contact materials.
- We have no reason to believe our products pose a health risk.
- Materials marked with an * are not on the DTSC Candidate Chemicals List; we include them for added transparency.

To prepare these disclosures, we review the California DTSC Candidate Chemicals List and the authoritative lists it incorporates (including OEHHA Proposition 65, US EPA, EU REACH, and other DTSC-recognized sources).
Labeling & Product Listings
Beginning in 2024, AB 1200 requires manufacturers to provide disclosures on product labels or online product listings for items sold in California. Ignik provides these disclosures on our product packaging and/or product listings, as applicable.
Note on Claims
We do not make broad “chemical-free” or “free of [candidate chemical]” claims unless the substance was not intentionally added, consistent with AB 1200.
